Built Up Roof Systems (Tar & Gravel)
Hector's Roofing Company are specialists in built-up roofing systems (BUR) using tar and gravel. We use modified heated bitumen membranes to achieve the desired result. We also occasionally use an unheated polymer based membrane system depending on the roofing project. Moreover, while Hector's Roofing Company has devoted an ample amount of roofing resources to R&D to improve our BUR roofing systems we currently recommend asphalt as our #1 roofing adhesive because its waterproof bonding ability is currently unrivaled on the roofing market.
Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems
Hector's Roofing Company is the roofing leader of modified bitumen roofing systems (MBRs). While we use asphalting roofing materials in our MBR applications, we amalgamate them with a series of solvents and modifiers to optimize them.
We use 5 different components that can be combined in several ways to form MBRs. For instance, Hector's Roofing Company can use initial insulation to form a strong foundation or substrate for the roof. We can then place a lower ply sheet under a bitumen based ply that is modified. In addition, we can use a modified bitumen membrane that consists of either polyester or fiberglass matting for our roofing applications.
